Abstract The reaction of the newly synthesized N-(2,2-dichloro-1-cyanoethenyl)prop-2-enamide and 4-chloro-N-(2,2-dichloro-1-cyanoethenyl)butanamide with methylamine or dimethylamine gave rise to previously unknown 5-amino-1,3-oxazole-4-carbonitriles.
