Abstract With their optical addressability of individual spins and long coherence time, nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond are often called “atom-like solid spin-defects”. As observed with trapped atomic ions, quantum interference mediated

Ortho-positronium pick off annihilation lifetime gives the information of the microscopic free volume of polymers. Polyimide polymers such as Kapton are applied in many fields, but it was impossible to apply the positron lifetime method for free volu

We discuss the results of electrically detected magnetic resonance (EDMR) spectroscopy on SiC-SiO2 interfaces interacting with hydrogen and nitrogen. Using EDMR, three types of 4H-SiC MOSFETs, which were prepared by dry oxidation (“Dry” sample),

DLTS measurements show bistable behavior of the previously reported EH5 peak in low- and high-energy electron irradiation 4H-SiC. Both reconfiguration processes (A ! B and B ! A) take place above 700 ±C. By isothermal annealing, the reconfiguration

We present an electrically detected electron-spin-resonance (ESR) study on SiO2-SiC interface regions of n-channel lateral 4H-SiC MOSFETs with hydrogen annealing. This characterization technique can reveal electrically active defects that interact wi

Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) at highly concentrated aqueous solution undergoes radiation crosslinking reaction by ionizing irradiation. It is assumed that this radiation-induced reaction takes place by the indirect effect of water radiolysis, especi

Radiation-induced graft polymerization of sulfo-containing styrene derivatives into crystalline poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) substrates was carried out to prepare thermally and mechanically stable polymer electrolyte membranes based on an aromatic

After low-energy electron irradiation of epitaxial n-type 4H-SiC, the DLTS peak amplitudes of the defects Z1/2 and EH6/7, which were already observed in as-grown layers, increased and the commonly found peaks EH1 and EH3 appeared. The bistable M-cent

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) was used to study high-purity semi-insulating 4H-SiC irradiated with 2 MeV electrons at room temperature. The EPR signal of the EI4 defect was found to be dominating in samples irradiated and annealed at ~750°C.
