Photonic spectral processors based on waveguide grating routers (WGR) having ∼1GHz resolution are developed for flexible sub-band add/drop with an LCoS SLM. We describe means for correcting the WGR's phase errors, which are inherent due to extremel

Photonic spectral processors based on waveguide grating routers (WGR) having ~1GHz resolution are developed for flexible sub-band add/drop with an LCoS SLM. We describe the applications and methods for correcting the WGR’s phase errors.

Spectrally dispersed light from a fine resolution AWG is spectrally filtered at ∼1 GHz resolution with an SLM. AWG phase errors were permanently trimmed waveguide-by-waveguide with an excimer laser by inducing stress in the glass.

We apply a spatial light modulator to spectrally dispersed light at extremely fine resolution to realize an optical filter with the ability to set any spectral amplitude and phase modulation, subject to the optical resolution limit.

A nosocomial outbreak of fulminant hepatitis B infection at a medical center in Haifa, Israel, between 7 and 26 June 1986, involved five patients who had been hospitalized previously in the medical ward in late April and early May (first generation).
