In this paper, we present the experimental observation of simultaneous bi-directional superluminal lasing in a triangular ring cavity without gain competition and crosstalk as needed for realizing a gyroscope based on the Sagnac effect. The gain spec

We present the experimental realization of simultaneous bi-directional superluminal lasing in a triangular ring cavity. The sensitivity enhancements of the superluminal ring lasers, inferred from simulation, are 505 and 362 at the two-photon resonanc

In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate a strong correlation between the frequencies of the Raman pump and the Raman probe inside an optically pumped Raman laser. We show that the correlation is due to rapid adjustment of the phase of the dipole

We have observed that the beat-note between a rubidium Raman ring laser and its gain pump is much narrower than the spectral width of the pump laser itself, indicating that they are mutually phase-locked.

We have demonstrated a laser in which the frequency shift due to small cavity fluctuations is far less than what would be expected from a conventional laser. The factor of sensitivity suppression is inferred to be equal to the effective group index e

We have developed a conceptual design for an Active Fast Light Fiber Optic Sensor (AFLIFOS) that can perform simultaneously or separately as a gyroscope (differential mode effect) and a sensor for acceleration, strain, and other common mode effects.

Optical absorption spectra, emission spectra, and fluorescence lifetimes were measured for a number of visible and infrared transitions in Ho 3+ doped KPb 2 Cl 5 . Judd–Ofelt parameters were obtained by using the conventional approach, as well as b
