Abstract Divacancy spins implement qubits with outstanding characteristics and capabilities in an industrial semiconductor host. On the other hand, there are still numerous open questions about the physics of these important defects, for instance, sp

Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) is a phenomenon that can provide strong and robust interfacing between optical signals and quantum coherence of electronic spins. In its archetypical form, mainly explored with atomic media, it uses a (n

Single-shot readout of divacancy spin qubits in silicon carbide is demonstrated through spin-selective two-photon ionization and subsequent optical charge readout. With this readout, we measure single-spin coherence times of over five seconds.

The divacancies in SiC are a family of paramagnetic defects that show promise for quantum communication technologies due to their long-lived electron spin coherence and their optical addressability at near-telecom wavelengths. Nonetheless, a high-fid
