Summary Bacterial examination of 500 dead chick embryos 19–21 days old showed an average of contamination rate of 60.8%. The contaminating flora comprised enterobacteriaceae sp., micrococci sp., streptococci sp., pseudomonas sp. and anthracoids sp.
