Accurate object tracking in low-light environments is crucial, particularly in surveillance, ethology applications, and biometric recognition systems. However, achieving this is significantly challenging due to the poor quality of captured sequences.

Monitoring ground displacements identifies potential geohazard risks early before they cause critical damage. Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) is one of the techniques that can monitor these displacements with sub-millimeter accuracy.

Abstract Volcanoes have dormancy periods that may last decades to centuries meaning that eruptions at volcanoes with no historical records of eruptions are common. Baseline monitoring to detect the early stages of reawakening is therefore important e

Radar (SAR) satellites systematically acquire imagery that can be used for volcano monitoring, characterising magmatic systems and potentially forecasting eruptions on a global scale. However, exploiting the large dataset is limited by the need for m

Manual examination of faecal smear samples to identify the existence of parasitic eggs is very time-consuming and can only be done by specialists. Therefore, an automated system is required to tackle this problem since it can relate to serious intest

Atmospheric turbulence distorts visual imagery and is always problematic for information interpretation by both human and machine. Most well-developed approaches to remove atmospheric turbulence distortion are model-based. However, these methods requ

Low-light image sequences generally suffer from spatio-temporal incoherent noise, flicker and blurring of moving objects. These artefacts significantly reduce visual quality and, in most cases, post-processing is needed in order to generate acceptabl
