The complex [Mo(NO){HB(3,5-Me2C3N2H)3}I2] reacts with oxacyclobutane, oxacyclopentane (tetrahydrofuran), or oxacycloheptane, in the presence of traces of moisture, to produce the diamagnetic alkoxide derivatives [Mo(NO){HB(3,5-Me2C3N2H)3}I{O(CH2)nI}]

Two series of complexes having the formula [M{HB(3,5-Me2C3N2H)3}(NO)Cl(NHC6H4Z-p)]; in which M=Mo and Z=F, Cl, Br, OMe, SMe, CN, CO2Me or NO2 and M=W and Z=Br, OMe, CN, CO2Me or NO2, have been prepared. The reduction potentials of these new complexes

The 16-electron complex [Mo(NO){HB(3,5-Me2C3N2H)3}I2] reacted with an excess of 2-amino-pyridine to produce the diamagnetic bis(amide) derivative [Mo(NO){HB(3,5-Me2C3N2H)3}(2-NHC5NH4)2], whereas with 2-aminomethylpyridine the 17-electron complex [Mo(

The reaction between [MO(NO)L(I)(NHR1)][L = tris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)borate, HB(Me2pz)3–; R1= Et, Prn, or Bun] and R1NH– afforded [Mo(NO)L(NHR1)2] but did not provide a route to derivatives in which R1= aryl. A similar approach using [W(NO)L(Cl

[Mo{HB(3,5-Me2C3N2H)3}(No)I2] reacts with the nitrogen heterocycles Z to give [Mo{HB(3,5-Me2C3N2H)3}(NO)Z2]+, where Z = pyridine, imidazole, N-methylimidazole, or pyrazole, with monosidium organoamides to give [Mo{HB(3,5-Me2C3N2H)3}(NO)Y2] where Y =
