A new Al(iii) MOF showed an ultra-fast response, high selectivity and a nanomolar level detection limit for the fluorometric sensing of dopamine. It also displayed great catalytic activity in the Biginelli reaction.

A new, highly fluorescent, diamine functionalized Zr(iv) MOF was used for selective fluorometric sensing of free chlorine with a LOD of 0.08 μM. The MOF also exhibited high catalytic activity and selectivity in a Knoevenagel condensation reaction.
