The Neutralized Drift Compression Experiment-II (NDCX-II) will generate ion beam pulses for studies of Warm Dense Matter and heavy-ion-driven Inertial Fusion Energy. The machine will accelerate 20-50 nC of Li+ to 1.2-3 MeV energy, starting from a 10.

Intense beams of heavy ions are capable of delivering precise and uniform beam energy deposition, with the capability to heat volumetric samples of any solid-phase target material to high energy density. The WDM conditions are achieved by combined lo

Transporting, manipulating, and delivering intense ion beams to produce WDM conditions in volumetric material samples requires precise control and diagnostic measurement. The NDCX-II facility will deliver ~;55nC pulses of Li+ at 2-3 MeV in a sub-nano

Recent changes to the NDCX beamline offer the promise of higher charge compressed bunches (>15nC), with correspondingly large intensities (>500kW/cm2), delivered to the target plane for ion-beam driven warm dense matter experiments. We report on comm
