The mechanical integrity of heat exchangers is the result of an interplay of many physical phenomena. A full, albeit simple, model, that covers mixture phase thermodynamics, heat transfer, flow dynamics, and the thermal and pressure stresses has been

Competent modeling of an electroelastic beam configuration is of major importance for MEMS. MEMS motors, based on such a deformable capacitor, are driven by one or more voltage sources. A coherent model of limited complexity and expressed in design p

We construct the $\Delta$ resonance as a superposition of a bare $\Delta$ state and the $\pi N$ continuum. It is parametrized by three coupling constants for local $\pi N \Delta$ and $\pi \pi N N$ couplings and the $\Delta$ mass. The latter incorpora

The Hamiltonian SU(N) lattice gauge theory is studied in terms of angular variables. We show that the one-plaquette problem can be mapped onto a fermion problem for arbitrary N. The low-lying energy spectrum is investigated numerically.

In the design of subsea flow systems the integrity and reliability is paramount. As the equipment must be designed to operate at a large variety of conditions, inherent to the many processes, evaluation of the integrity is complex. Flow induced pulsa

The paper develops a forecasting model of emissions from traffic flows embracing the dynamics of driving behavior due to variations in payload. To measure of emissions at the level of individual vehicles under varying payloads a portable emission mea

We discuss the application of an extended version of the coupled cluster method to systems exhibiting a quantum phase transition. We use thr lattice O(4) nonlinear sigma model in (1 + 1) and (3 + 1) dimensions as an example. We show how simple predic

We study the low-lying energy spectrum for the SU(N) one-plaquette problem by use of a maximal-tree gauge and angular variables. We show that the one-plaquette problem reduces to a problem of N fermions on a circle, which is solved numerically.

We develop a consistent approach to Hamiltonian lattice gauge theory, using the maximal-tree gauge. The various constraints are discussed and implemented. An independent and complete set of variables for the colourless sector is determined. A general
