This article gives the history of oxygen-converter steelmaking at the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Combine, describes the current state of this activity, and discusses ways in which the process might be improved.

A method has been developed for production of periclase-carbon parts from periclase-lime patching powders with the addition of graphite kish. The periclase-carbon parts made using parallel mixing of the components possess higher properties.
