The possibilities of beam intensity noise rejection offered by a narrow-band closed opto-electronic loop system are studied. The noise added to the beam by the acousto-optic modulator used as the actuator is computed. The intensity noise of the in-lo

Hybrid pumping appears as a promising compromise in order to reach the much coveted goal of an electrically pumped organic laser. In such configuration the organic material is optically pumped by an electrically pumped inorganic device on chip. This

We investigated experimentally the ray-wave correspondence in organic microlasers of various triangular shapes. Triangular billiards are of interest since they are the simplest cases of polygonal billiards and the existence and properties of periodic

The emission from open cavities with non-integrable features remains a challenging problem of practical as well as fundamental relevance. Square-shaped dielectric microcavities provide a favorable case study with generic implications for other polygo

Dielectric resonators are open systems particularly interesting due to their wide range of applications in optics and photonics. In a recent paper [PRE, vol. 78, 056202 (2008)] the trace formula for both the smooth and the oscillating parts of the re

Two-dimensional microlasers are generating interest for their potential applications, as bio-and chemiosensors and as building blocks for optical telecommunications [1]. For many practical purposes it is crucial to conceive and demonstrate microcavit
