Ferrocenecarbaldehyde was reduced to methylferrocene upon interaction with zinc tetrahydroborate in THF. The reactions proceeded rapidly (5–10 min) in high yields (ca. 90%). Analogous results were obtained when a mechanically activated mixture of z
