The genetic basis of the phenotypic difference between human and chimpanzee is one of the most actively pursued issues in current genomics. Although the genomic divergence between the two species has been described, the transcriptomic divergence has

We isolated two mouse cDNA clones which show significant similarities with human angiotensin-converting enzyme-related carboxypeptidase (ACE2). The cDNAs were 2746 and 1995 bp in length and seemed to arise from the same gene by alternative splicing.

In order to isolate genes that may not be represented in current human brain cDNA libraries, we have sequenced about 20,000 sequence tags of cDNA clones derived from cerebellum and parietal lobe of cynomolgus monkeys (Macaca fascicularis). We determi

We have identified a novel gene encoding a protein bearing GTP-binding motifs, the characteristics of GTP-binding proteins (G proteins). The deduced amino acid sequence exhibited the highest overall homology with GTPBP1 and its mouse orthologue GP-1.

We have cloned cDNA for TTYH1, a human homologue of the Drosophila melanogaster tweety (tty) gene. The 450-residue predicted protein shows 27% amino acid sequence identity (51% similarity) to the Drosophila protein, which contains an additional C-ter

We isolated and determined the sequence of cDNA encoding mouse BH-protocadherin (BH-Pcdh) from heart. It encodes a 1069 amino acids (aa) polypeptide exhibiting an overall 97% identity with human BH-Pcdh-a and 83% identity with Xenopus NF-protocadheri

The substitution rate and structural divergence in the 5'-untranslated region (UTR) were investigated by using human and cynomolgus monkey cDNA sequences. Due to the weaker functional constraint in the UTR than in the coding sequence, the divergence

We constructed full-length enriched cDNA libraries from chimpanzee brain, skin, and liver tissues by the oligo-capping method to establish a database of sequences of chimpanzee genes. Randomly selected clones from the libraries were subjected to one-

Background In order to contribute to the establishment of a complete map of transcribed regions of the human genome, we constructed a testicular cDNA library for the cynomolgus monkey, and attempted to find novel transcripts for identification of the
