Blepharostoma indica G.Asthana, Saxena & Maurya sp. nov., a tiny, gemmiparous leafy liverwort, is reported from Chakrata and Mukteshwar, (Uttarakhand), western Himalaya. It shows distinctive features separating it from the well-known B. trichophyllum
