Cells with DNA incorporating Br-dUMP as a thymidine monophosphate (dTMP) analog are known to be highly sensitive to ionizing radiation. To clarify physicochemical mechanism of the bromine-radiosensitization, the electronic state of the Br-DNA related

Purpose: Cells are highly radiosensitized when their genomic DNA incorporates Br atoms. This strong radiosensitization can mask the Auger effect externally induced by monochromatic X-rays. We clarified the radiosensitization mechanism by investigatin

To clarify the radiosensitization mechanism masking the Auger effect of the cells possessing brominated DNA, the electronic properties of DNA-related molecules containing Br were investigated by X-ray spectroscopy and specific heat measurement.X-ray
