The maintenance polyamines homeostasis is important for cell growth, and several cancers harbor elevated levels of polyamines that may contribute to sustained proliferative potential. Here the authors demonstrate that polyamines participate in DNA do

Homologous recombination (HR) is an error-free repair pathway to eliminate DNA double-strand breaks and crucial for maintaining genome stability. Pathogenic mutations in genes involved in HR, such as BRCA1 and BRCA2, lead to homologous recombination

Polyamines, often elevated in cancer cells, have been shown to promote cell growth and proliferation. Whether polyamines regulate other cell functions remains unclear. Here, we explore whether and how polyamines affect genome integrity. When DNA doub

Homologous recombination (HR) is an error-free repair pathway to eliminate DNA double-strand breaks and cells with deficiency of HR repair are highly sensitive to poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors. Thus, targeting HR-defective cells becom

Polyamines are essential organic cations for cell growth, proliferation and tissue remodeling. The rate-limiting step in the biosynthesis of polyamines is catalyzed by ornithine decarboxylase (ODC). The activity of ODC and the level of intracellular
