Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is an important cause of acute lower respiratory infection in children and adults worldwide. There are four genetic subgroups of HMPV and both neutralizing antibodies and T cells contribute to protection. However, little

Abstract Bile acid profiles are altered in obese individuals with asthma. Thus, we sought to better understand how obesity-related systemic changes contribute to lung pathophysiology. We also test the therapeutic potential of nitro-oleic acid (NO2-OA

Influenza is a common respiratory virus that infects between 5 and 20% of the US population and results in 30,000 deaths annually. A primary cause of influenza-associated death is secondary bacterial pneumonia. We have previously shown that influenza

BACKGROUND: The mechanisms underlying the known link between overweight/obesity and childhood asthma are unclear. We aimed to identify differentially expressed genes and pathways associated with obesity-related asthma through a transcriptomic analysi

Obesity-associated asthma is phenotypically characterized by low grade inflammation and resistance to standard therapies. Like many other asthma endotypes, the molecular mechanisms contributing to obesity-associated asthma are diverse and ambiguous.
