We propose a hybrid silicon-nitride (Si3N4 or SiN for short)/nonlinear polymer waveguide to achieve second-harmonic generation of an input 1550 nm signal by modal phase-matching between zero-order spatial mode at 1550 nm and second-order mode at 775

Nonlinear optical processing devices are not yet fully practical as they are single channel. Here the authors demonstrate all-optical regeneration of up to 16 channels by one device, employing a group-delay-managed nonlinear medium where strong self-

We experimentally demonstrate phase-preserving amplitude regeneration of an RZ-QPSK signal by placing an optical phase conjugator between two Mamyshev regenerators, improving intensity noise 2.8 times, Q-factor by 2.4 dB and EVM by 4.0%.

We study Raman gain in few-mode fibers (FMFs) by measuring spontaneous Raman scattering in polarization-maintaining FMF, mode-maintaining FMF and common FMF. The results show that the intensities of spontaneous Raman scattering in different polarizat

We describe a scheme for generation of spatial-mode-entangled photon pairs in a few-mode fiber and experimentally demonstrate generation of idler beams from classical seed signals representing various superpositions of fiber LP01 and LP $_{11a}$ mode

We explore the potential of a combination of two fiber parametric wavelength converters and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier to serve as a hybrid amplifier for S-band. We experimentally confirm the validity of a simple quantum model of the wavelength-

We present a scheme for spatial-mode-selective frequency conversion in a few-mode fiber and experimentally demonstrate upconversion of arbitrary superpositions of LP01 and LP11a signal modes from C-band to the fundamental mode in S-band with all conv

We report the design, fabrication, and characterization of a silicon-nitride (SiN) microring-resonator-based label-free biosensor for the purpose of neuropeptide Y (NPY) protein detection. NPY is commonly associated with stress in human body. The dev
