The “Rudolf Mössbauer Story” recounts the history of the discovery of the “Mössbauer Effect” in 1958 by Rudolf Mössbauer as a graduate student of Heinz Maier-Leibnitz for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1961 when he was 32 years old.

Powder samples of CdCr2S4 and HgCr2S4 were investigated with respect to their magnetic behavior using muon spin rotation/relaxation spectroscopy (μSR). In CdCr2S4, a second order magnetic transition at 83 ± 1 K is confirmed. No influence on the μS

Zero, longitudinal and transverse field μSR was carried out between 3 and 250 K in YMn2, Y0.9Tb0.1Mn2, Y0.98Sc0.02Mn2 and TbMn2. The data had to be analyzed in the frame of electronic-nuclear double relaxation. The dynamics of Mn magnetic moments in

The calculation of dynamic relaxation functions is an essential ingredient for the analysis ofμSR, spectra. So far no fastand memory efficient algorithm has been presented to cure this problem. The traditional method is the calculation of large, mem

The mere fact that the Mossbauer effect was discovered with the 129.4 keV transition in 191Ir demonstrates immediately the availability of Mossbauer isotopes other than 57Fe. Nevertheless, the 57Fe resonance remains the soul of Mossbauer spectroscopy
