Abstract PRPF40A plays an important role in the regulation of pre-mRNA splicing by mediating protein-protein interactions in the early steps of spliceosome assembly. By binding to proteins at the 5´ and 3´ splice sites, PRPF40A promotes spliceosome

Abstract Import of proteins into peroxisomes depends on PEX5, PEX13 and PEX14. By combining biochemical methods and structural biology, we show that the C-terminal SH3 domain of PEX13 mediates intramolecular interactions with a proximal FxxxF motif.

Abstract The regulation of thymocyte development by RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) is largely unexplored. We identify 642 RBPs in the thymus and focus on Arpp21, which shows selective and dynamic expression in early thymocytes. Arpp21 is downregulated i

Mutations in the human PURA gene cause the neurodevelopmental PURA syndrome. In contrast to several other monogenetic disorders, almost all reported mutations in this nucleic acid-binding protein result in the full disease penetrance. In this study,

Abstract SMNDC1 is a Tudor domain protein that recognizes di-methylated arginines and controls gene expression as an essential splicing factor. Here, we study the specific contributions of the SMNDC1 Tudor domain to protein-protein interactions, subc

Abstract The RNA-binding motif protein RBM5 belongs to a family of multi-domain RNA binding proteins that regulate alternative splicing of genes important for apoptosis and cell proliferation and have been implicated in cancer. RBM5 harbors structura

The solution structure, stability, and dynamics of a broadly-acting antiviral ACE2-IgG-Fc fusion protein are determined. Small chemical compounds binding to ACE2 can be used to drastically increase the thermal stability of the ACE2 domain.

Abstract The replication complex (RC) of SARS-CoV-2 was recently shown to be one of the fastest RNA-dependent RNA polymerases of any known coronavirus. With this rapid elongation, the RC is more prone to incorporate mismatches during elongation, resu
