Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) is the rate limiting enzyme in pentose-phosphate pathway. G6PD catalyzes glucose-6-phosphate to 6-phosphogluconolactone and concomitantly produced Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH).
