TiN thin films and nanorod array are grown in magnetron sputtering system. The tailored permittivity via changing the nitrogen flow rate is reported. The polarization dependent plasmonic modes are investigated by analyzing the absorptance spectra.

A TiN-SiO2 symmetric film stack was designed using admittance tracing method as an ultra-thin light absorber. With optical property of TiN, the film stack is suitable to be applied for solar thermo-photovoltaics.
