Adaptive blind equalization based on modulus algorithm is very efficient to carry out polarization separation and inter-symbol interference compensation in a coherent dual-polarization quaternary-phase-shift-keying transmission system. Its performanc

In polarization multiplexing based coherent optical transmission, two main kinds of impairements have to be counter-acted: 1) the inter-symbol interference generated by the chromatic dispersion and the polarization mode dispersion and 2) the frequenc

We experimentally compare over 1000 km of G.652 fiber the performance of coherent DP-QPSK for 100 Gbps long-haul WDM transmission over DCF-free and legacy infrastructure supporting a 10 Gbps WDM system. We show that 100 Gbps DCF-free transmission ove

We propose an adaptation of the CMA algorithm in order to ensure singularity-free transmission independently of the channel characteristics. This adaptation is implemented using a blockwise approach in 112Gbit/s context and valid for PSK/QAM formats.

We propose a block equalization algorithm using optimal step size. The algorithm shows fast convergence, low steady-state error and good tracking capacity in comparison to standard equalizers operating on a sample-by-sample basis.

In 112Gbit/s optical coherent transmission context, we propose decision-directed and blind adaptive equalizers using variable step size suitable for 16-QAM. The considered algorithms offer better steady state performance and convergence speed than st
