A novel study on harmonic frequency combs emitted by quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) is presented here, demonstrating the presence of intensity correlations between twin modes characterizing the emission spectra. These originate from a four‐wave mixi

A laser exhibits both controllable gain and loss and, under proper design conditions, is an ideal non-Hermitian system allowing the direct observation and engineering of spectral singularities such as exceptional points (EPs). A dual section distribu

We demonstrate the presence of intensity correlation in the harmonic comb emitted by quantum cascade lasers, paving the way for a deeper understanding of the role of the four-wave-mixing process enabling this emission.

We demonstrate coherent averaging of the multi-heterodyne beat signal between two quantum cascade laser frequency combs in a master-follower configuration. The two combs are mutually locked by acting on the drive current to control their relative off

Mid-infrared (MIR) quantum cascade laser (QCL) frequency combs are an appealing technology for dual-comb spectroscopy as they cover strong absorption bands of many relevant molecules in the MIR region and enable measurements with sub-microsecond time

High-resolution spectroscopy in the mid-infrared requires stable frequency references. A frequency comb emitted by a quantum cascade laser is locked to a molecular transition, demonstrating 30-kHz frequency stability up to 5000-s integration time.

The generation of frequency combs in the mid-infrared (MIR) spectral range by quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) has the potential for revolutionizing dual-comb multi-heterodyne spectroscopy in the molecular fingerprint region. However, in contrast to fre

The effect of spatial hole burning on mode proliferation has been shown both theoretically and experimentally to be important for frequency comb operation in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs). It is therefore of great interest to investigate the frequenc
