Bangla handwritten digit recognition (BHDR) is a well-known problem in the digitization of Bangla language and Bengali script. A lot of work has been done on BHDR and very good accuracy has been achieved. This success can be extended to handwritten B

Decision trees are one of the most popular classifiers used in a wide range of real-world problems. Thus, it is very important to achieve higher prediction accuracy for decision trees. Most of the well-known decision tree induction algorithms used in

Multicast Video-on-Demand (VoD) systems are scalable and cheap-to-operate. In such systems, a single stream is shared by a batch of common user requests. In this research, we propose multicast communication technique in an Enterprise Network where mu

This paper presents a heuristic to solve the Multidimensional Multiple-choice Knapsack Problem (MMKP), a variant of the classical 0-1 Knapsack Problem. We apply a transformation technique to map the multidimensional resource consumption to single dim

A technique of preprocessing an arbitrary system of linear equations has been presented. The solution scheme comprises two parts-the first reduces the problem to a symmetric positive definite system through multiplying corresponding matrix by its tra

This paper presents two heuristic algorithms of the MMKP (a variant of 0–1 knapsack problem) for cluster computing. We present an architecture of a cluster, such that algorithm requires small message passing. The algorithms divide the problem among
