We study the single-orbital Hubbard model on the half-filled decorated honeycomb lattice. In the non-interacting theory at half-filling the Fermi energy lies within a flat band where strong correlations are enhanced. The lattice is highly frustrated.

We study the interplay of strong electron correlations and intra-triangle spin exchange at two-thirds filling of the single-orbital Hubbard model on the decorated honeycomb lattice using rotationally invariant slave bosons. We find that the spin exch

Spin crossover (SCO) materials are reversible molecular switches found in a wide range of transition metal complexes and metal organic frameworks (MOFs). They exhibit diverse spin state orderings and transitions between them. We present an exact mapp

We report ten ground states arising from strong correlations in the single-orbital Hubbard model on the decorated honeycomb lattice; including Dirac metals, flat-band ferromagnets, real-space Mott insulators, dimer and trimer Mott insulators, and a s

We study the finite-temperature properties of the half-filled two-band Hubbard model in the presence of Hund's rule coupling and orbital anisotropy. We use the mean-field treatment of the $Z_2$ slave-spin theory with a finite-temperature extension of

We use the Kotliar-Ruckenstein slave-boson formalism to study the temperature dependence of paramagnetic phases of the one-band Hubbard model for a variety of band structures. We calculate the Fermi liquid quasiparticle spectral weight $Z$ and identi

Finding microscopic models for metallic states that exhibit quantum critical properties such as $\omega/T$ scaling is a major theoretical challenge. We calculate the local dynamical spin susceptibility $\chi(T,\omega)$ for a Hubbard model at half fil

We consider how the infrared intensity of an O-H stretch in a hydrogen bonded complex varies as the strength of the H-bond varies from weak to strong. We obtain trends for the fundamental and overtone transitions as a function of donor-acceptor dista
