Infiltration of stormwater is a widely used strategy to mitigate the flooding and environmental risks that come from urban runoff and conventional urban drainage. An understanding of the fate of this infiltrated water is required for rigorous design.

Environmental flow assessment frameworks have begun to consider changes to flow regimes resulting from land-use change. Urban stormwater runoff, which degrades streams through altered volume, pattern and quality of flow, presents a problem that chall

Headwater streams are critical to the integrity of the stream network; yet they are being rapidly degraded, channelised or lost through land-cover and land-use change, particularly in urbanizing areas. We refined the definition of a headwater stream,

Permeable pavement (PP) systems have been shown to provide onsite stormwater management as well as contaminant removal benefits. Therefore, significant research has taken place in recent years to analyse the performance of these structures in terms o

Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) are increasingly applied to capture and utilise urban runoff to augment water supply, reduce flood risk, and to restore natural flow regimes in receiving waters. ...

It is increasingly recognised that urban trees can contribute to reducing stormwater runoff by intercepting and retaining a fraction of rainfall received. What is less studied is the translation of this to reduced pollutant loads being transferred to
Traditional approaches to urban drainage degrade receiving waters. Alternative approaches have potential to protect downstream waters and provide other benefits to cities, including greater water security. Their widespread adoption requires robust de
