In this paper, three Vernier permanent-magnet (VPM) motor, namely the inner-rotor VPM (IR-VPM) motor, the outer-rotor VPM (OR-VPM) motor and the OR consequent-pole VPM (OR-CP-VPM) motor are proposed for the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) applications.

A method for modeling permanent magnet motors including saturation effects on cogging and motive torque is described. This method rivals the accuracy of finite element analyses but solves 4–5 orders of magnitude faster, depending on several factors

Cogging torque reduction with skewing techniques was explored on the MIT Robotic Cheetah. Skewed machines with either skewed rotors or stators were constructed, tested, and fielded on the robot. Results were compared with a convolution technique for

DC faults may cause severe disruptions in continuity of service to vital loads in a shipboard integrated power system, hence detection, isolation, and protection against such faults must be incorporated in both medium-voltage DC (MVDC) and low-voltag
