We theoretically and experimentally study the all-optical clock recovery performance using the primary or the secondary temporal Talbot effects (PTTE or STTE, respectively) in a dispersive medium having the first-order dispersion together with the se

We propose and experimentally demonstrate the temporal-Talbot-effect (TTE)-based preprocessing for the pattern-effect reduction in the all-optical clock recovery using a semiconductor-optical-amplifier (SOA)-based fiber ring laser (SOA-FRL). The TTE-

Less than 100ps, polarization-independent switching operation of an active birefringent optical fiber loop filter using 1.3 μm control optical pulses as well as a 1.3 μm semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) has been demonstrated. In the proposed S

The synthesis and properties of (S)‐(2‐methylbutyl)benzene derivative and (S)‐2‐phenylpropionic acid derivatives were studied with a view to their application on cholesteric liquid crystal devices. Compared with available chiral compounds the

We propose and demonstrate an accurate and one-end accessible BOTDA system by round-tripping the pump and doubly phase-modulated probe lights through the sensing fibers with a Faraday rotation mirror. The availability of the method is experimentally

We successfully demonstrate all-optical clock recovery for ∼10-Gbit/s return-to-zero signal using the secondary temporal Talbot effect with twofold wavelength-dispersion via the double-round-trip transit of 40-km-long single-mode fiber. Experimenta

We theoretically and experimentally evaluate the influence of the bandwidth limitation and group delay ripple (GDR) of linearly chirped fiber Bragg gratings (LCFBGs) on the all-optical clock recovery utilizing the temporal Talbot effect. To simulate

We demonstrate 10-Gbit/s all-optical clock recovery using the temporal Talbot effect in single-mode fibers with subsequent optical pulse injection into an SOA-based fiber ring laser. The clear clock is recovered from 231-1 PRBS optical pulses.

We propose an accurate measurement method of the Brillouin frequency shift in optical fibers applicable for distributed strain/temperature measurement, using a doubly phase-modulated probe light. Its accuracy and the usefulness are experimentally dem

We demonstrate the amplitude-noise and timing-jitter reduction of repetition pulses by the injection locking of an SOA fiber ring laser. Amplitude-noise and timing-jitter are successfully reduced from 3.50~6.46% to 0~2.68% and 0.41~4.07 ps to 0.38~3.
