In the present paper, we study the relation between criticality and information transmission in the one-dimensional contact process with infection parameter $$\lambda .$$ We introduce a notion of sensitivity of the process to its initial condition an

The present paper has two goals. First to present a natural example of a new class of random fields which are the variable neighborhood random fields. The example we consider is a partially observed nearest neighbor binary Markov random field. The se

The original publication of the article unfortunately contained a mistake in the first sentence of Theorem 1 and in the second part of the proof of Theorem 1. The corrected statement of Theorem as well as the corrected proof are given below. The full

We consider the [Formula: see text] Ising model with Kac potentials at inverse temperature [Formula: see text] where the mean field predicts a phase transition with two possible equilibrium magnetizations [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]. We
We consider a highly anisotropic \(d=2\) Ising spin model whose precise definition can be found at the beginning of Sect. 2. In this model the spins on a same horizontal line (layer) interact via a \(d=1\) Kac potential while the vertical interaction

We consider a non-local excess free energy functional, which arises in the description of the continuum limit of Ising spin system with Kac interaction and external random magnetic field. We study the functional for values of the parameters in the ph

In this paper we study the nearest neighbor Ising model with ferromagnetic interactions in the presence of a space dependent magnetic field which vanishes as $|x|^{-\alpha}$, $\alpha >0$, as $|x|\to \infty$. We prove that in dimensions $d\ge 2$ for a

One-Dimensional Ising Models with Long Range Interactions: Cluster Expansion, Phase-Separating Point
We consider the phase separation problem for the one-dimensional ferromagnetic Ising model with long-range two-body interaction, J(n) = n −2+α , where $${n\in {\rm {I\!N}}}$$ denotes the distance of the two spins and $${\alpha \in [0,\alpha_+[}$$

We prove the existence of a phase transition in the quantum Widom–Rowlison model in two dimension. The case of Boltzmann and Bose statistics are explicitly discussed.
