In the last decades, a large focus is being placed on the sustainability and safety of the power transformer spectrum. Ester liquids, which have interesting properties such as high fire point and biodegradability, are gaining needed attraction. Since

In this contribution, a mathematical model allowing for the prediction of the AC surface arc propagation on polluted insulators under non-uniform electric field is proposed. The approach is based on the experimental concept of Claverie and Porcheron.

This paper presents the development of a new bi-arc dynamic numerical model for predicting AC critical flashover voltage (FOV) of ice-covered extra-high voltage (EHV) insulators. The proposed model is based on a generic calculation algorithm coupled

This paper investigates the influence of arc velocity and propagation criteria on the parameters of a dynamic numerical mono-arc model used to predict flashover voltage of ice-covered insulators. For that purpose, a generic algorithm has been develop

Natural ester dielectric fluids are being used as alternatives for mineral insulating oils in oil-filled power apparatuses. Although partial discharges (PDs) are recognised as one of the main causes of degradation of dielectrics used in power equipme

In this contribution, a mathematical model is proposed to predict the discharge inception voltage on polluted insulators under a non-uniform field of a high-voltage DC system. The present study is derived from the modified Peek’s law used for predi

In this paper, an analytical expression has been exploited for computing the discharge inception voltage of polluted insulators under a high voltage AC system. This expression was established for DC high voltage. The present contribution is inspired
