In the context of rapid advancements in AI, the accuracies and speeds among various AI models and methods are often compared. However, a basic question is rarely asked: is AI better than humans, and if so, under what conditions? This paper investigat

Diffuse optical tomography (DOT) is emerging as a noninvasive functional imaging method for breast cancer diagnosis and neoadjuvant chemotherapy monitoring. In particular, the multimodal approach of combining DOT with x-ray digital breast tomosynthes

We constructed a novel tomographic optical breast imager with simultaneous x-ray tomosynthesis co-registration. It consists of a continuous wave and a frequency encoded frequency domain imaging unit connected to an x-ray translucent fiber optic probe

We use mesh based Monte Carlo simulations to generate realistic transmission breast diffuse optical tomography data. We use these controlled conditions to test the impact of data degradation on finite element diffusion based image reconstructions.

We have developed the second generation of our time-domain near-infrared spectroscopy (TD-NIRS) system for baseline and functional brain imaging. The instrument uses a pulsed broadband supercontinuum laser emitting a large spectrum between 650 and 17

We explore structural-prior-guided optical image reconstructions using a clinical population presenting breast lesions. We extend our algorithm with addition of tumor priors. This results in dramatic improvement in optical contrast of malignancy.

We developed a multi wavelength time domain imager for baseline hemoglobin measurements and functional imaging. A multiplexed supercontinuum pulsed laser and gated parallel detection on an intensified CCD camera allow for multi channel imaging.
