Abstract Ionised gas, i.e., plasma, is a medium where electrons-ions dynamics are electrically and magnetically altered. Electric and magnetic fields can modify plasma’s optical loss, refraction, and gain. Still, plasma’s low pressure and large e

In this work, we study theoretically and experimentally optical modes of photonic molecules—clusters of optically coupled spherical resonators. Unlike previous studies, we do not use stems to hold spheres in their positions relying, instead, on opt

We present the first experimental demonstration of a Fabry‒Perot resonator that utilizes total internal reflection from a liquid–gas interface. Our hybrid resonator hosts both optical and capillary waves that mutually interact. Except for the alm

We report on reversible and continuously deformable soft micro-resonators and the control of their resonance split and directional emission. Assisted by computerized holographic-tweezers, functioning as an optical deformer of our device, we gradual

Microcavities are used for resonantly enhanced interactions of light with matter or particles. Usually, the resonator’s sensitivity drops down with every particle attached to its interface due to the inherent scattering losses and the corresponding

Degeneracies play a crucial rule in precise scientific measurements as well as in sensing applications. Spherical resonators have a high degree of degeneracy thanks to their highest symmetry; yet, fabricating perfect spheres is challenging because ev

Highly symmetrical objects are important to a manifold of applications such as precise measurements and sensing. However, creating a perfect sphere proves to be experimentally extremely difficult, as gravity and the support deform the sphere from its

Interactions between laser beams and plasma are widely studied, mostly with short pulses [1] . Here, we use an experimental setup where the most important instrument is a CW whispering-gallery mode micro-cavity with plasma inside. As one can see in f
