Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi, among other soil microorganisms, have been proposed as biological indicators of normal rhizosphere structure and functionality. This makes them a useful functional group to monitor potential risks related to the use

Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal community associated with pecan (Carya illinoinensis) roots and rhizospheric soils was assessed by spore isolation and morphological characterisation and by pyrosequencing of AM molecular markers. The AM fungal comm

The commercial use of genetically modified (GM) plants has significantly increased worldwide. The interactions between GM plants and arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi are of considerable importance given the agricultural and ecological role of AM and

Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi and phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) have a positive effect on plant productivity primarily through increasing phosphate availability. In order to study the interaction between AM fungi and PSB, we used Bacillus

Exudates of a dark septate endophyte (DSE) identified as Dreschlera sp., a common endophyte isolated by the inner cortical cells of the grass Lolium multiflorum , were put in contact with the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (AMF) Gigaspora rosea . Thes

Ri T-DNA transformed roots have been used effectively in studying the interaction between various plant hosts and arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. We investigated the in vitro monoxenic symbiosis between the AM fungus Glomus intraradices and transf

We describe a simple technique for obtaining endophytic microorganisms from field-collected roots. Roots of plant species were surfaced-sterilized, cut into pieces, and then each root piece was transferred to drops of Gel-Gro medium. The number of se

To our knowledge, there are no studies on the interactive effects of inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and cytokinin addition to plants under drought stress. We investigated the potential protective effect of arbuscular mycorrhizae on pom

The aim of this study was to assess the effects of agronomic practices on arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal community in soils from the Pampa Ondulada region (Argentina), and to compare conclusions reached when using pyrosequencing or morphological

The growth dynamics of extraradical mycelium and spore formation of 14 “Rhizophagus” isolates from different sites in Argentina were evaluated under monoxenic conditions. A modified Gompertz model was used to characterize the development of mycel
