CCL2 is a chemokine involved in brain inflammation, but the way in which it contributes to the entrance of lymphocytes in the parenchyma is unclear. Imaging of the cell type responsible for this task and details on how the process takes place in vivo

Inflammation is a component of Parkinson’s disease. Here the authors show that activation of Toll-like receptor 9 controlled by microglial glucocorticoid receptor signaling, contributes to dopamine neuron loss in a model of Parkinson’s disease.

Astrocytes are essential partners of neurons in the central nervous system. In response to many brain diseases, astrocytes change at the morphological, molecular and functional levels: they become reactive. These multiple changes are likely to have s

In Alzheimer disease (AD), astrocytes undergo complex changes and become reactive. The consequences of this reaction are still unclear. To evaluate the net impact of reactive astrocytes in AD, we recently developed viral vectors targeting astrocytes

Astrocytes are key cellular partners for neurons in the central nervous system. Astrocytes react to virtually all types of pathological alterations in brain homeostasis by significant morphological and molecular changes. This response was classically
