Neurons depend on aerobic metabolism, yet are very sensitive to oxidative stress and, as a consequence, typically operate in a low O2 environment. The balance between blood flow and metabolic activity, both of which can vary spatially and dynamically

International audience; The relationship between neural oscillations recorded at various spatial scales remains poorly understood partly due to an overall dearth of studies utilizing simultaneous measurements. In an effort to study quantitative marke

International audience; The timely regulation of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion requires a GABAergic signal. We hypothesized that GEC1, a protein promoting the transport of GABA(A) receptors, could represent a circadian effector in G

International audience; Oscillations are widely distributed throughout the nervous system. A number of models accounting for their generation and their contribution to the synchronization of the concerned neurons, have been proposed. Most of these sc

The cell cycle and the circadian clock are endogenous pacemakers, which coexist in most eukaryotic cells and share a number of conceptual features. In the zebrafish, light directly regulates the timing of both clocks, although the signaling and trans

Impaired inhibition is thought to be important in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), the most common form of epilepsy in adult patients. We report that, in experimental TLE, spontaneous GABAergic inhibition was increased in the soma but reduced in the den
