Lectins are carbohydrate-binding proteins which potentially link to cell surface glycoconjugates and affect cell proliferation. We investigated the effect of a new lectin from the mushroom Xerocomus chrysenteron (XCL) on cell proliferation using adhe

Megasatellites are large DNA tandem repeats, originally described in Candida glabrata , in protein-coding genes. Most of the genes in which megasatellites are found are of unknown function. In this work, we extended the search for megasatellites to 2

Xerocomus chrysenteron is an edible mushroom with insecticidal properties. In an earlier work, we found that proteins are responsible for this toxicity. Here we describe the purification of a approximately 15 kDa lectin, named XCL, from the mushroom.
