Fractional charges can be induced by magnetic fluxes at the interface between a topological insulator (TI) and a type-II superconductor due to axion electrodynamics. In a Josephson junction array with a hole in the middle, these electronic states can

Majorana bound states (MBSs) can occur in Josephson junctions of conventional s-wave superconductors coupled via a strong topological insulator. In configurations of multiple line junctions meeting at a point, the criterion for the MBS to exist coinc

Recently, a dynamic vortex Mott transition has been observed in an array of superconducting nanodots. Here, we report the effect of the interaction of microwave radiation on this system and we show the occurrence of giant Shapiro steps.

Numerical simulations were done to find low energy states in frustrated large square Josephson Junction arrays in a perpendicular magnetic field using simulated annealing on the coupled RSJ model. These simulations were made possible by a new algorit

The dynamic Mott insulator-to-metal transition (DMT) is key to many intriguing phenomena in condensed matter physics yet it remains nearly unexplored. The cleanest way to observe DMT, without the interference from disorder and other effects inherent

The current frontiers in the investigation of high-energy particles demand for new detection methods. Higher sensitivity to low-energy deposition, high-energy resolution to identify events and improve the background rejection, and large detector mass

As the complexity of strongly correlated systems and high temperature superconductors increases, so does also the essential complexity of defects found in these materials and the complexity of the supercurrent pathways. It can be therefore convenient
