The objective of using supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in cement is to reduce costs and the overall CO2 output of the cement production. Against the background of an increasing demand for cement and a decreasing availability of common SCM

We compared the performances of two mid-infrared non-planar ring ZGP OPO resonators, generating up to 30 W (RISTRA) and 27 W (FIRE). The beam quality is significantly improved from a value of M2 < 1.8 (RISTRA) to M2 < 1.4 (FIRE).

Clay amendments are used widely in the horticultural industry in peat-based substrates, as they have the capability to improve the potassium (K) buffering capacity. The K adsorption and desorption behavior of different clays was characterized here to

Peat is an important growing media constituent which exposes hydrophobic properties if getting dry. The addition of clay induces a coated surface with hydro-philic properties which improves the re-wettability. The formation of an effective clay coati

Singly 0.5 at.% Ho doped crystals of YLiF4 (YLF) and LuLiF4 (LLF) are studied under identical pump conditions in continuous-wave (CW) and Q-switched operation. Longitudinal end-pumped CW laser performance shows Ho:LLF to have a slightly lower thresho

We developed a compact Ho:YLF oscillator–amplifier system in a novel setup to utilise the unpolarised pump power from a fibre laser efficiently, and produced 21.3 mJ at 1 kHz, with an M 2 better than 1.1. The amplified energies agreed well with the

A 2% Tm3+-doped LiYF4(Tm:YLF) slab is double-end-pumped by two laser diode stacks. The pumped volume has a rectangular cross section. The Tm:YLF laser produced 148 W of continuos-wave output at 1912 nm in a beam with M 2 ≈199 and M 2 ≈1.7 for 554
