We report the detection of 15 GHz radio continuum emission associated with the classical Cepheid variable star δ Cephei ( δ Cep) based on observations with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array. Our results constitute the first probable detection of

Classical novae are shock-powered multi-wavelength transients triggered by a thermonuclear runaway on an accreting white dwarf. V1674 Her is the fastest nova ever recorded (time to declined by two magnitudes is t_2=1.1 d) that challenges our understa

We present a high time resolution, multi-frequency linear polarization analysis of Very Large Array (VLA) radio observations during some of the brightest radio flaring (~1 Jy) activity of the 2015 outburst of V404 Cygni. The VLA simultaneously captur

We present multi-wavelength observations of the unusual nova V1535 Sco throughout its outburst in 2015. Early radio observations were consistent with synchrotron emission, and early X-ray observations revealed the presence of high-energy (>1 keV) pho

We present excellent resolution and high sensitivity Very Large Array (VLA) observations of the 21cm HI line emission from the face-on galaxy NGC 1058, providing the first reliable study of the HI profile shapes throughout the entire disk of an exter

We report observations of a luminous unresolved object at redshift z = 4.62, with a featureless optical spectrum redward of the Lyman alpha forest region, discovered from Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) commissioning data. The redshift is determined

We detect neutral hydrogen 21 cm absorption toward the smallest Einstein ring, 0218+357, at a redshift of 0.6847. The implied H I column density is N(H I)=4×10 18 (T s /f) cm −2 , where T s is the spin temperature of the gas and f is the H I cover

The supernova SN1986j resembles the prototypical Type V supernova SN1961v in the relatively slow ∼1000km/s expansion velocity, the slow light curve, and also in the Hα dominated spectrum. The optical spectrum is similar to the spectra of some nova
