Survival data were obtained on Acholeplasma laidlawii B after exposure to ionizing radiation at various ages, pH, temperature, and supplements to the medium. The D0 value varied slightly with pH in air but much more after irradiations in N2 or N2O. R

A large proportion of bacteria isolated from the intertidal zone could grow in higher salt concentrations than found in seawater, and some could grow in saturated or near-saturated NaCl. Half the bacteria isolated could grow in media very low (0.06%)
