Femtosecond laser systems are the enabling technology for cold ablation, a process that removes layers of material with virtually no thermal side-effects, and therefore leads to a superior quality without additional post-processing steps [1, 2]. Cold

We present a high-power, single-crystal based, Yb:CALGO regenerative amplifier. The system delivers more than 50 W output power in continuous-wave regime, with diffraction limited beam quality. In Q-switching regime the spectrum is centered at 1043 n

Absorption, stimulated-emission and gain cross-sections are determined for 3 at.% Tm:CaGdAlO4. This crystal is employed in a microchip laser diode-pumped at 802 nm. In the continuous-wave (CW) regime, this laser generates 1.16 W at 1883-1893 nm with

A detailed performance comparison of new interesting Yb-doped crystals in the same oscillator setup, with a single-mode fiber-coupled diode laser pump, is reported. We intended to assess the shortest pulses achievable with available SESAM technology,

We investigated the performance of the laser gain medium Yb:Lu2O3 in a low-power oscillator and a high-power regenerative amplifier. Almost Fourier transform limited 78-fs pulses were demonstrated in the low-power, SESAM mode-locked oscillator pumped

We obtained up to 42 W with 780 fs-long pulses at 500 kHz repetition rate with M2=1.2 in a Yb:Lu 2 O 3 based regenerative amplifier. Also, sub-100-fs pulse generation in a low-power SESAM mode-locked oscillator are presented.

We report for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, an innovative design concept for intracavity pulse stretching in a regenerative amplifier, employing a single “grating-mirror” based on a leaky-mode grating-waveguide design. The very co

We study and compare the performance of Yb:CaAlGdO 4 - and Yb:CaF 2 -based regenerative amplifiers at low (5 to 10 kHz) and high (up to 500 kHz) repetition rates. Both materials allow for pulse energies of Thanks to the good thermal properties of Yb:
