Two general methods are reported for the preparation of 1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b][1,2,4]-thiadiazolium salts 4 from 4-amino-2,4-dihydro-2-methyl-5-(methylthio)-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-thione (1). The first one involves the initial formation of arylidene deriv
