Bacterial cellulose nanocrystals (BCNCs) have hydrophilic surfaces due to hydroxyl groups but are water-insoluble. The carboxymethylation improves the solubility of cellulose in polar media through the insertion of carboxymethyl groups. This study ai

In this paper, we present an electric current and magnetic field sensor using Mach-Zehnder interferometer in optical fibers with paramagnetic nanoparticles. We used NiFe2O4 Nickel Ferrite nanoparticles with average crystallite size of 72 nm ± 13 nm.

Several methods can be used to obtain, from powder diffraction patterns, crystallite size and lattice strain of polycrystalline samples. Some examples are the Scherrer equation, Williamson–Hall plots, Warren/Averbach Fourier decomposition, Whole Po

The Scherrer equation is a widely used tool to obtain crystallite size from polycrystalline samples. Its limit of applicability has been determined recently, using computer simulations, for a few structures and it was proposed that it is directly dep

The several mathematical formulations of X-ray diffraction theory facilitate its understanding and use as a materials characterization technique, since one can opt for the simplest formulation that adequately describes the case being studied. As sync

We have demonstrated in this work that single phase of α-Fe2O3 nanoparticle can be prepared using gelatin. It was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) technique, gas sorption technique (BET), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and transmis

The Scherrer equation is a widely used tool to determine the crystallite size of polycrystalline samples. However, it is not clear if one can apply it to large crystallite sizes because its derivation is based on the kinematical theory of X-ray diffr
