We have proposed and demonstrated the principle of optical decoupling in a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL)-electroabsorption modulator device by use of a duo-cavity device architecture. This technique promises ultrahigh-frequency modul

microRNAs (miRs) are 21- to 24-nucleotide-long RNA molecules that are mainly involved in regulating the gene expression at the post-transcriptional levels. They are present in a variety of organisms from algae to plants and play an important role in

Finite or Galois fields are used in numerous applications like error correcting codes, digital signal processing and cryptography. The design of efficient methods for Galois field arithmetic such as multiplication and division is critical for these a

We have proposed and demonstrated the principle of optical decoupling of the AC modulation component in a lossmodulated Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) using a detuned duo-cavity device. This approach allows the VCSEL power to be modul

We have demonstrated the principle of optical decoupling in a loss-modulated VCSEL by use of a dual-cavity geometry. Adjusting detuning between cavities controls the decoupling amount. Flat (+/-3db) response up to 20 GHz is demonstrated.

In this paper, we present a new VLSI chip for computing multiplication and division in Galois Fields GF(2m), for values of m 1. 8. The chip is based on a syslolic architecture which can produce a new result every clock cycle and the two operations ca
