The transition from laminar to turbulent flow is an immensely important topic that is still being studied. Here we show that complex plasmas, i.e., microparticles immersed in a low temperature plasma, make it possible to study the particle-resolved o

Complex plasmas, i.e., low-temperature plasmas containing suspensions of solid microparticles, exhibit electrorheological properties which are manifested by the formation of stringlike clusters (SLCs) in microgravity experiments. It is thought that S

Properties of self-excited dust acoustic waves under the influence of active compression of the dust particle system were experimentally studied in the laboratory and under microgravity conditions (parabolic flight). Ground based laboratory experimen

The PK-4 laboratory consists of a direct current plasma tube into which microparticles are injected, forming a complex plasma. The microparticles acquire many electrons from the ambient plasma and are thus highly charged and interact with each other.

The PK-3 Plus laboratory on board the International Space Station is used to study the interaction between metallic spheres and a complex plasma. We show that the metallic spheres significantly affect both the local plasma environment and the micropa

Complex plasmas consist of microparticles embedded in a low-temperature plasma and allow investigating various effects by tracing the motion of these microparticles. Dust density waves appear in complex plasmas as self-excited acoustic waves in the m
