Diet intervention is emerging as an option to improve cancer therapy. Here, the authors show that a diet with restrictive cysteine and methionine synergizes with a ferroptosis inducer to increase cell death and survival in glioma preclinical models.

SUMMARYGlioma cells hijack developmental transcriptional programs to control cell state. During neural development, lineage trajectories rely on specialized metabolic pathways. However, the link between tumor cell state and metabolic programs is poor

There is a compelling need for new therapeutic strategies for glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Preclinical target and therapeutic discovery for GBMs is primarily conducted using cell lines grown in serum-containing media, such as U-87 MG, which do not

Purpose/Objective(s): Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States and worldwide. There has been little improvement in survival over the past several decades and surgery is generally considered to be the only curative treatm

Ferroptosis is a form of programmed cell death pathogenic to several acute and chronic diseases and executed via oxygenation of polyunsaturated phosphatidylethanolamines (PE) by 15-lipoxygenases (15-LO) that normally use free polyunsaturated fatty ac

Homologous recombination is a conserved pathway for repairing double-stranded breaks, which are processed to yield single-stranded DNA overhangs that serve as platforms for presynaptic-complex assembly. Here we use single-molecule imaging to reveal t
