Annonaceous acetogenins (ACG), belonging to the family Annonaceae, represent a class of bioactive compounds whose toxic effects have been reported for several spe-cies of insects. Given their insecticidal properties, we first carried out the isolatio

We report here experimental (FTIR) results and molecular dynamics simulations of the interactions of acetogenins with artificial lipid bilayers. FTIR results indicated that acetogenins interact to different extents with the phosphate and carbonyl gro

Toxic and nutritional effects of annonaceous acetogenins and their semisynthetic analogues on Spodoptera frugiperda were evaluated. Structural modification of the natural ACG, blocking the OH flanking THF with MOM, allowed us to suggest the mode of a

The interactions were studied by FTIR and DSC of the terminal lactone of annonaceous acetogenins (ACGs) and synthetic analogues, such as THF, with POPC bilayers, as well as the toxic effect produced by these compounds on Spodoptera frugiperda larvae.
